Like I mentioned in my previous post, I am a photographer and I live in the gorgeous Shenandoah Valley in Shenandoah County Virginia. I took this picture today in Mount Jackson Virginia. I use this as one of my natural backdrops during a lot of family photo sessions. I love this area!

~ The last few days I have felt a lot better so I have rushed into playing catch up, Spring cleaning & organizing.

It is so important to be organized. Over the years I have realized that this one simple word can be the results that makes or breaks a persons dreams, goals and businesses.

Over the last 15 years I helped two family members reach their goals of graduating with advanced diploma's after one was told in 6th grade her learning disabilities would stop her from getting a regular diploma, and the other was told it was easier to use his learning disabilities to not have to qualify for a regular diploma. I did my research and learned there are certain things important for the students to stay on the right path to get what they wanted.
  • They needed to make goals.
  • They needed someone to believe, encourage and show them that their attitudes mattered.
  • They needed a daily routine.
  • They must have organization.
I must say it was true. Looking back over the years only three things caused them any bumps in the road. If they were dealing with bullies, something changed in routines and most of all....locker, book bag and note book disorganization. I am happy to report they both graduated in 2012 with Advanced Diploma's (:

I think these are good things to base my businesses around so I am working on re-organizing!

Welcome to my new blog!!!

My name is Ann Phelps Shanholtz and I live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. I spent my whole life just barely surviving. Some peoples lives would make a good movie, I am not even 40 and my life would make several good movies.

I started this blog because I like helping people. I spent my whole life helping others. I am ready to make some changes. This is the journey from survivor to success. My journey. I am determined to make changes to better the quality of my life. I matter. It's about time I realize that.

I will go in more detail as I go, but for right now let me give the basics of who I am. I am a mother and wife. The oldest of ten children among my parents & step parents. I love volunteering and fundraising. A lot of people call me the middle man because I help people in need find help. I am a photographer, editor and owner of Phelps Digital Photography. I am a new Pampered Chef consultant. I work with my husband doing drywall, painting and textured ceilings when needed. I love art, traveling and Cuban food.

I look forward to sharing my experiences, photos, travels, businesses and more as I learn to change my mind set.
